DeMultiverse 2 Print Counts are Locking This Week!

Hello, if you're receiving this update, it's because you backed our inaugural campaign for JM DeMatteis's DeMultiverse. If you already backed our DeMultiverse Phase 2 campaign, feel free to ignore this message.
To those of you who didn't jump on board for Phase 2, I just wanted to let you know we are locking our print runs this week for the second round of books and it's not too late to hop aboard via our BackerKit preorder store (link below).
In this campaign, we are offering the second chapters of all four DeMultiverse books (Anyman, Godsend, Layla in the Lands of After, & Wisdom); available with the main cover by the series artists (Shawn McManus, Tom Mandrake, David Baldeon, & Scott Koblish) and a variant cover by a special guest to the DeMultiverse, such as Patch Zircher, Marguerite Sauvage, Matthew Dow Smith, and co-creator of The Boys, Darick Robertson.
We also have the second issue of The Edward Gloom Mysteries and a second printing of #1 with a new cover by series artist Vassilis Gogtzilas. And of course, we have our 108-page second trade paperback featuring another original painted cover by Liam Sharp, an introduction from Danny Fingeroth, an original essay by JM, and lots of art and script bonus material.
You can also grab books from the first campaign, autographs, and T-shirts. And the best part is, there's very little waiting. We should have the printed books in hand around a month from now and orders will start shipping immediately.
Here's that link, if you're interested:
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, David Spellbinder-in-Chief Spellbound Comics
Only 10 minutes left to SUPPORT JM DeMATTEIS'S DeMULTIVERSE!

Two very quick things: One, THE EDWARD GLOOM MYSTERIES, written by JM DeMatteis and illustrated by Vassilis Gogtzilas (Augusta Wind) will ONLY be available in this campaign. Right before we go to print, we will close off ordering on this book and print that number of copies (with a small number of extras to cover damages and lost packages). If you'd like to read GLOOM, you must purchase it during this campaign. This is true for the new issue #2 and the second print of issue #1, both being offered exclusively in this campaign.
Turn that frown upside down and read GLOOM!
And number two, in case you missed it this past weekend, we added a FREE JM DeMATTEIS AUTOGRAPH TO EVERY SINGLE TPB!
Imagine JM's sweet sig positioned perfectly across Gabriel Wisdom's chest.
JM's autograph is actually becoming quite rare as he hasn't done an in-person convention in OVER FIVE YEARS. Plus his autograph is a $20 value in this campaign so that's like getting the TPB for just $45!
Four, all-new 22-page stories written by one of the greatest comics writers of all-time and drawn by some of the industry's top talent, plus an all-new painted cover by Liam Sharp, all the variant covers, bonus material, an original foreword on JM's works and career by former Spider-man editor Danny Fingeroth--
--over 100 pages of new content in total!--
--AND JM's signature--all for $65? How can you go wrong?!
-If you are one of the few dozen backers who paid for an autograph, we will include that autograph on another book in your order (most often GLOOM #2).
-If you paid for an autograph and only bought the TPB, you can either edit your pledge to remove the paid autograph or you can leave it be as a generous donation. And, who knows, maybe we'll find something special to throw into your order?
-If you bought the TPB and do NOT want it autographed, that's okay too -- just shoot us an email at [email protected] and we'll note your order.
This is it, folks, the final push. Less than 10 minutes to support one of the greatest writers ever in our favorite storytelling medium.
FINAL WEEKEND SPECIAL!

THE POT JUST GOT SWEETER!
With less than 3 days to go in our DeMultiverse Phase 2 campaign, time is of the essence so I'll make this quick: Anyone who purchases the TPB, whether it's just the TPB or as part of a bundle, is going to get a FREE JM DeMATTEIS AUTOGRAPH on it!
If you already backed, you don't need to do a thing. If you haven't backed yet, head on over and pledge your reward. JM's autograph is actually becoming quite rare as he hasn't done an in-person convention in OVER FIVE YEARS. Plus his autograph is a $20 value in this campaign so that's like getting the TPB for just $45!

SOME NOTES

PS - While I have your attention, I'd also like to share with you some other Kickstarter comics-related projects that are near and dear to our art.
First up, it's JUMP #2 by good-friend-of-Spellbound's, Keith Champagne! Keith is a crowdfunding master having done about ten campaigns now. And besides that he's a fantastic writer, inker, and letterer -- a nearly-one-stop-shop of comics creating (*And an okay person to boot!). I backed and read JUMP #1 and I can tell you it was a TON of fun with fantastic art!
Next up is TREKKER by Ron Randall. This series, set in the year 2226, has been going on for over 30 years now. At this rate, it may LAST until the year 2226! And Ron ALWAYS brings a huge following and bang for your buck. Just look at that art!
And finally, not a comic but comic-adjacent: It's another fantastic Madman swag campaign by Christopher Irving! He's Mike Allred's righthand man for merch and he's back with an all-new campaign that may interest you!
ONE WEEK TO GO! Please spread the word!

ONE WEEK TO GO!
Before we get to business, did you know editor Len Wein once offered JM the chance to take over monthly writing duties on Swamp Thing, but JM turned him down for a contract with Marvel, so Len went to his second choice, Alan Moore? It’s true!
Hey, The World kind of looks like Swamp Thing! (Image from GODSEND #2, available in this campaign!)
Just when you thought your inbox was safe, we return! (Image from ANYMAN #2, available in this campaign!)
Well, loyal Spellbound audience, as the title of this email spoils, we’re officially in the home stretch of our The DeMultiverse 2 campaign. That means if you plan to support us this time around, you’ve got slightly less than 7 days to do it.
Less than 7 days to "save" Layla! (Image from LAYLA IN THE LANDS OF AFTER #2, available in this campaign.)
And we sure could use your support!
Just one more week to stop my screaming! (Image from WISDOM #2, available in this campaign!)
For our first campaign, we had ~850 backers. This time around, we just passed 300. Needless to say, that isn’t where we hoped we be at this point. But that’s okay. We’ve still got plenty of time to climb that mountain. But to do that, we’re going to need your help!
It's okay, give me your hand and I'll show you the way. (Image from GODSEND #2, available in this campaign!)
Still available are a handful of Zoom calls with JM. Also available from the Add-ons page you’ll see after pledging are autographs by Tom Mandrake, Shawn McManus, and JM.
Did you know JM hasn’t done an in-person convention in about FIVE years? That’s a long time. So getting his signature on a DeMultiverse book is actually very rare!
If you’re planning to hop on board, today’s a great time to do that.
If you’re on the fence about joining this time around, let me know in the comments why or email me directly at [email protected]. As w’ve said many ways before, The DeMultiverse literally wouldn’t exist without each and every one of you.
The DeMultiverse and YOU make for a perfect marriage! (Image from THE EDWARD GLOOM MYSTERIES #2, available in this campaign!)
Talk to you soon!
Sincerely, David Spellbinder-in-Chief

WE'RE HALFWAY THERE!
Yesterday, we passed the halfway mark of our four week campaign. To start, JM, the artists and I want to personally thank each and every one of you who have come along for our journey the second time around. We've had quite a few new names in our backer pool, which was a very nice surprise. We also wanted to personally invite those of you who supported us the first time around to jump on board again.
As you know, we've got five all-new issues available now, all written by the Man himself. If you love comics, you almost certainly love something JM DeMatteis has written: AMAZINGSPIDER-MAN, SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, SPIDER-MAN: KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT, JUSTICE LEAGUE, JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, SUPERMAN, BATMAN, BATMAN: ROBIN LIVES (out now!), BEN REILLY, MOONSHADOW, BLOOD: A TALE, BROOKLYN DREAMS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, DEFENDERS, MAN-THING, DR. FATE, HEROES SQUARED, ABADAZAD, and SO many more.
Just ask James Gunn who is currently adapting JM's creation CREATURE COMMANDOS into a feature film!
The Creature Commando characters seen above are some of JM's earliest original creations, the DeMultiverse characters are his latest!
By any measure, JM is a first-ballot Hall of Famer in the comics industry and if you want to see someone of his talent continue to create original, creator-owned material, this is your chance. It doesn't matter what your taste in comics is, JM's got an all-new original title for you.
Like to read fantasy? Try LAYLA IN THE LANDS OF AFTER.
Sci-fi or mystery is more your jam? GODSEND's the way to go.
Prefer Westerns, horror or both? We've got WISDOM.
Only read traditional superhero stuff? Well, I'm here to tell you ANYMAN is likely the best superhero book you'll read this year or in the past several. Both issues are full of haymaker plot points and surprising twists. There's a reason ANYMAN won our reader poll for favorite DeMultiverse title after the first campaign!
Fun fact: The original idea for ANYMAN was a Superman idea that JM never got to do. Lucky for us, as it works even better as an original tale!
Hey, this SUPERMAN story by JM is also drawn by DeMultiverse cover artist(and 2024 Eisner-nominated artist) Liam Sharp!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BREAK THE BANK
For as little as $9, you can support the careers of JM and all the artists, including Shawn McManus, Tom Mandrake, David Baldeon, Scott Koblish, Vassilis Gogtzilas, and cover artists Liam Sharp, Marguerite Savauge, Patch Zircher, and Darick Robertson. Not to mention all the colorists, letterers, and designers it takes to create and publish five all-new comic books AND a collected trade paperback.
Any size pledge will also gain you access to our Add-ons page where you can purchase ANY book we've ever published, including our bonus book, THE EDWARD GLOOM MYSTERIES and all our issue #1s, including the variant covers by JH Williams III, Kevin Maguire, Kent Williams, and Dustin Nguyen. It'll be like shopping at a comic book-themed Amazon!
While I have your attention, I also want to shine a light on the five Zoom calls rewards we have available. Each one includes a copy of the new TPB and a 40 minute one-on-one chat with the man himself. These Zoom calls are like being at a convention talking to a creator except they're about ten times as long and no one interrupts you! And since JM hasn't done a convention for nearly five years, this is a pretty rare opportunity to pick his brain about anything you'd like. My suggestion: Ask him about his original plans for his Captain America run that got nixed and led to him quitting (and later inspired his IDW title THE LIFE & TIMES OF SAVIOR 28).
Also, in case you missed it from our social media accounts, we've been covered nicely on CBR.com and ScreenRant.com. Click the links to read, if you're so inclined.
Also wanted to mention, I've lowered the international shipping prices to more closely reflect the Pirate Ship prices. Canada & the UK are now $20 and the Rest of the World is $24.
If there's anything you'd like to ask or any feedback you'd like to give, please leave a comment on the campaign or email me directly at[email protected]. I respond to all comments and emails as promptly as possible. As I've said many times before, it takes a village to make a DeMultiverse, and without all of you, it wouldn't exist.
That's it for today, our beloved Spellbound audience. Until next time...
